Today I would like to introduce you to the first lady of this film. Katharina Sebert from Munich, my hometown. Had I not gone to a demonstration about the gentrification of our city, our mutual friend Ateet could maybe not have connected us. So, let's all go more to demos and meet new people ;)
Katharina is a medicine woman, circle facilitator and female empowerment leader. It seems she is truly living her purpose and with every fiber she sparkles out motivation - I believe she is actually a spiritual cheerleader. I cannot say how much she has pushed and motivated me with her outbursts of love, joy and excitement whenever we connected. Her giggly laughter is fascinating and more than contagious. From the first moment on there were ideas and ideas and a big "YES" bubbling up. After our first meeting I literally flew home on my bicycle, all airy and light in my mind, with so many new strategies about saving the environment, freeing the Feminine, creating a better world. Needless to tell you, she's an airy Gemini lady with some major fire aspects. She even says about herself that she is a fire woman.
Katharina previously studied linguistics and focussed on gender related communication, how different men and women communicate in business relations, for example. I was very impressed when I was invited to her home and found a book shelf with one hundred million amazing feminist books, most of them with a spiritual background. I noted many of them down and hope to have some time after the release of the film to read more again. I will even make you a list with great books soon, promise!
With Katharina I had also a beautiful encounter with the Animal Spirit Kingdom. A dragonfly was joining us while we were filming in the English Garden in Munich. This animal is believed to be the Bearer of Wisdom and it was such an honor to have her join us. As spirit animal, the dragonfly is said to be connected to the symbolism of change and light. It's the symbol of joy and lightness, and having a deep connection with your thoughts and emotions. The dragonfly showed up and sat in front of us on a stone, resting and letting us adore her. Her green-silver body shimmering in the light.
On this day, Katharina arrived a little bit sad to the shooting so seeing the dragonfly lightened up her mood already was beautiful to watch. When we were filming a willow tree by the little river, Katharina told me that the willow had taken her pain away. In my research here I found this: "The Willow is the tree most associated with the moon, water, the Goddess and all that is feminine. The willow has much to teach us in its associations with our feminine aspects. It is the tree of dreaming, intuition and deep emotions. Allowing the emotions to come through to the surface, is the power of the willow's essential energy. Deep emotional pain blocks the energy of the body and can cause many illnesses. The willow will allow the person to move through the many levels of sadness, express the pain though tears and grief, and, by moving through these emotions, facilitate healing. When you are either over-stimulated by your feelings or cut off from them, connecting with a tree with a water attunement will greatly help."
Now picture t h a t. I always loved these trees because of how melancholic and yet gracefully they let their leaves dangle in the wind. It's these moments that bring me so much joy. Paying attention the the little details, signs and the pure magic of life's beauty.
Katharina has helped me tremendously during the process of creating the film. Not only was she very well organized and is absolutely acing communication (Gemini's ruling planet being Mercury, the communication bearer, what can I say) and it's quite impressive how many projects and groups she manages to unite. It's really her strengths to make people feel so loved, welcome and right - this warm quality truly felt like the embodied Divine Feminine.
Of course, living in the same city allowed us to film more often and get to know us a bit better. This is a very rare privilege. Mostly, I only have around two days to work out a film idea with women when traveling, so I really enjoyed filming with her through all the seasons.
Through her I learned about Gather The Women, which is a worldwide sisterhood that connects women through circles, creating safe space to share the true Self. They say "We celebrate our unique diversity as well as the rising of the Divine Feminine, leading to personal and planetary transformation." Katharina is the regional coordinator for the German speaking countries and is now also a part of the Wisdom Council.
