Foremother of the Goddess Movement

Vicki Noble is an American feminist shamanic healer, author, scholar, wisdom teacher and feminist artist.

Vicki Noble has been an active part in the Women’s Spirituality Movement from the early days in the mid-70s.

Her love for the ancient prehistoric Goddess cultures, and living matriarchal cultures led her to running a school for women healers, and teaching internationally on graduate level.

Motherpeace Tarot Deck

With artist Karen Vogel, she co-authored the Motherpeace Tarot based upon the documented history and ethnography of female esoteric practices.

„In creating Motherpeace we were able to use our research into many diverse cultures from every continent. We looked back at forty thousand years of art and five million years of human evolution. Our investigations led us to study many Goddess and Indigenous cultures from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia and Europe. All this knowledge pours through the Motherpeace images, whether or not a person ever reads any of our books or studies the tarot.“

In 2017, the Motherpeace Tarot Deck was even inspiration for a collection of the fashion brand Dior.

„What I remember most from this time is the thrill of being a part of a Grassroots uprising, momentous and larger than ourselves. The women were reconceptualizing religion to include priestesses and rituals honoring a female divinity, while other feminist women were creating independent venues to channel the creativity that has exploded with the general rise of the women’s movement“
